TOUR Transalp - 3rd stage

Europe's most famous and spectacular amateur cycling event arrives in the Val di Fassa. In the third of the seven scheduled stages, the competitors will ride up the entire valley, from Moena to Fedaia Pass, and then cross the finish line in San Martino di Castrozza

For 20 years, the TOUR Transalp, organised by the German magazine TOUR (reference in Germany, Austria and Switzerland for professional and amateur road cyclists), has been cycling through the Alps in the summer, crossing mountain passes and national and regional borders. For each edition, a different circuit is designed, taking around 750 cyclists from 35 nations to discover, in one week, valleys, villages and hidden corners of Austria, South Tyrol, Trentino and Veneto. It is seven days of sweat, joy, sportsmanship, friendship and breathtaking views. The goal? Some cyclists are fighting for victory, while for others the important thing is to participate and complete the 788 kilometres with 16,650 metres of altitude difference. Everyone is free to decide whether to participate alone or in pairs, even mixed pairs.

Stage description Moena/Val di Fassa - San Martino di Castrozza: the second part of the route through the Dolomites begins with an ascent of the entire Val di Fassa, from Moena to Fedaia Pass, at the foot of Queen Marmolada. On the descent, cyclists will reach the villages of Malga Ciapela, Caprile, Alleghe and Cencenighe. From here the climb to Falcade and the Valles Pass begins. The Rolle is the last tough pass of the day to be tackled before reaching San Martino di Castrozza, with the Pale di San Martino continuing to dominate the horizon.

On the occasion of the stage in Val di Fassa, the main road between Moena and Fedaia Pass will be temporarily closed to traffic to ensure the passage of the competitors. The services of the TOUR Transalp include luggage transport, refreshment, safety and professional timing services, technical and medical assistance.
