For the traditional summer music festival, the "San Osvaldo" Choir performs a rich repertoire of popular songs in the village square
Traditional mountain songs inspired by the grandiose Alpine landscapes, glaciers, forests and legends of the Dolomites. Every Thursday evening, we will be able to listen to pieces skilfully performed by local choral groups, who will entertain us in an exciting concert, sure to be appreciated by valley dwellers and tourists alike. On 24 Juli, at 9.15 p.m., the "San Osvaldo" Choir from Roncegno Terme will perform in the square in front of the tourist office in Vigo.
Founded in 1968, the "San Osvaldo" Choir takes its name from the ancient church that dominates the village of Roncegno Terme, on the slopes of Monte Fravort, in Valsugana, in eastern Trentino. A male voice choir, it performs regional, Italian and international folk songs, alongside original compositions and historical pieces. Today it is conducted by Maestro Salvatore La Rosa and has 30 members. Active throughout Europe and beyond (Canada, United States, Wales...), it has been organising the Festival of Folk and Mountain Songs since 1973 and is the promoter of the interactive Museum of Folk Musical Instruments, which is open to visitors. Since 2021, it has been registered with RUNTS as an APS (social promotion association) and since 2012 it has carried the "Family in Trentino" label. In Vigo, we will also be able to hear their latest recording, "Nert", with lyrics by Sante dalla Putta and harmonisation by Giorgio Susana.
The concert is free of charge. In case of bad weather at the events pavilion in front of Hotel Vael.
