At dawn in a mountain dairy - Jumela Dairy

Programme

Friday 29th August

• 4.30 pm: let's all get on the cable car! Meet at the Pozza lifts to go up to Buffaure (2040 m)
• 4.50 pm: once we reach the summit, we will admire the spectacular view, then put on our backpacks and set off along the easy path that leads us to the mountain hut. During the walk, led by our mountain guide, we will learn the names of the peaks and, if we are lucky, we may even spot some wild animals.
• 5.30 pm: we arrive at the Baita Cuz mountain hut. Take off your shoes and backpacks and find a place to sleep: we will all sleep together! Those who wish can climb up to Col de Valvacin to admire the spectacular 360° view of the Fassa Dolomites
• 7.30 p.m.: dinner time! We'll be hungry after this beautiful walk... Stefano and Lucia will satisfy the appetites of young and old alike with typical dishes
• 9 p.m.: everyone under the duvets: tomorrow is an early start!

Saturday August 30th:

• 5.30 a.m.: wake up! It will be a little tiring at first, but when will we ever get to see the sun rise from up here again?
• 6 a.m.: on the terrace of the Baita Cuz mountain hut, we enjoy the sunrise illuminating the peaks of the Dolomites. Then we set off for Malga Jumela and meet Lucia
• 6.30 a.m.: divided into small groups, we will try our hand at the activities of the mountain hut: from milking cows to combing livestock, collecting eggs and accompanying the cows to the pastures
• 8 a.m.: after all that hard work, it's time for a well-deserved break with a delicious breakfast at the malga, consisting of fresh milk, fruit juices, elderflower syrup, jams, homemade and traditional cakes, fritters, eggs, butter, cheeses, speck and other cured meats, freshly baked bread (which we will have made together)... and much more!
• 10/10.30 a.m.: we put our backpacks back on and set off again with the mountain guide for the return hike, with the option of reaching the panoramic viewpoint of Sas de Pere da Fech (2142 m) before returning to the valley.
• Late morning: we have reached the end of #albeinmalga... now you can even treat yourself to a nap!
