Ladin Culture Weekend: a journey through gestures and stories

Saturday, 18th October

• 1:00 p.m. – Gather in Penia to begin our journey into the authentic heart of the upper Fassa Valley, among the charming hamlets of Vera and Lorenz, small hidden gems in the mountains. Accompanied by an experienced Mid-Mountain Guide and Sara from N’Outa, guardian of ancient knowledge, we will embark on a slow and mindful walk. Every path we follow whispers stories of deep roots, where the landscape becomes a living memory and local identity is reflected in everyday details, gestures, and spaces we cross. An experience that nourishes the spirit, slowing down time to rediscover the value of the surroundings
• 3:45 p.m. – Transfer to Campitello di Fassa by private vehicle
• 4:00 p.m. – Workshop with Sara Desilvestro from N’Outa in a typical tobià, an ancient Fassa Valley hayloft. We will experience a tradition deeply rooted in rural life. Rye threshing and flax carding—ancient, meaningful gestures—will come to life under your hands. Guided by Sara, a farmer and artisan, you will connect directly with the earth and natural fibers, rediscovering the profound and authentic bond between humans and their environment. A moment of slow, tangible discovery, emphasizing care and respect for nature
• 5:30 p.m. – Aperitif with local products. A convivial moment to immerse yourself in the authentic flavors of the Fassa Valley. Enjoy a guided tasting of carefully selected local products, in collaboration with La Strada dei Formaggi, savoring cheeses, cured meats, and other local specialties, shared by those who produce them with passion.
• Following: Transfer to the valley center, dinner at the accommodation, and overnight stay.

Sunday, 19th October

• 8:15 a.m. – Breakfast at the accommodation
• Around 9:30 AM – Departure by private vehicle to Vigo
• 10:00 a.m. – Artistic workshop with Atelier Kreides. Give shape to your emotions and the Ladin tradition using clay, with no prior preparation needed. This creative and accessible workshop allows you to transform discovered symbols into unique, personal art pieces. Your creations will later be fired and shipped directly to your home, preserving a tangible memory of this journey through art and culture
• 12:00 p.m. – Lunch break
• 2:00 p.m. – Guided visit to the Ladin Museum of Fassa. Conclude your journey into Ladin identity at a place where objects, images, and stories tell the life of a community that carefully preserves its roots, intertwining past and future. An immersion in the memory and culture of a proud and resilient people
• 3:30 p.m.– End of the experience
