Working together for our territory, protecting and promoting it, for those who live here and those who visit
Through concrete, collaborative projects, we work alongside the community and local operators to take care of the environment, the landscape and the way in which the area is experienced, every day, by those who live there and those who discover it.
Sa Mont
"Sa Mont" (which means "In the Mountain" in Ladin) is a project coordinated by the Val di Fassa Tourist Board, in collaboration with local stakeholders: the Comun General de Fascia, the municipalities of the valley, the ASUC and the SAT with its local sections, with the aim of protecting the environment for the benefit of visitors and the local community. The project deals with the maintenance of trails, contributing to the conservation and enhancement of hiking infrastructure, and the collection of waste in the most frequented areas. The activities are carried out thanks to the coordinated efforts of around twenty people, who work in the area to ensure safety, a high-quality hiking experience and respect for the environment. Starting in the 2025–2026 winter season, the Sa Mont project will be extended to winter trails. The new area of intervention will focus on trail grooming, with the aim of ensuring optimal conditions for hiking and orderly and responsible use of the territory even during the winter months. It is essential that every hiker takes responsibility for their own waste and contributes to preserving the integrity of the trails, avoiding behaviour that could damage them.
CleanUp Days
Since 2025, ApT Val di Fassa has been promoting CleanUP Days, an environmental awareness initiative dedicated to caring for and cleaning up the local area, carried out in collaboration with schools, associations and local businesses. The first edition involved 40 teams for a total of about 300 participants who, over the course of an entire week, contributed to the collection of waste along trails, footpaths and natural areas of the valley, covering a total of about 170 km from Canazei to Moena. The initiative, aimed at residents and visitors, was created with the aim of raising awareness of respect for the environment and strengthening a sense of responsibility towards the particularly delicate Dolomite territory. The initiative was very well received, with teams and individual participants actively involved throughout the valley and a high demand for the free kit to carry out cleaning independently.
Redo
We often wonder how to reuse customised technical materials produced for events or exhibitions, as well as staff uniforms that are no longer used but still in good condition. Banners, TNT, mesh fabrics, flags that can no longer be used due to a change of sponsor: do we really have to throw everything away? These considerations gave rise to a project aimed at recovering and reusing promotional and textile materials. We identified the A.L.P.I. Social Cooperative in Trento as our partner, which specialises in the employment of vulnerable individuals and the recycling of fabrics. The cooperative has agreed to produce a series of items such as bags and pouches personalised with the Val di Fassa brand, using fabric from uniforms that are to be disposed of and some of the technical materials from banners, flags and roll-ups that are no longer usable. The project has multiple advantages: it allows materials that are still in good condition to be recycled, thus avoiding waste and creating unique and original promotional gifts bearing the Val di Fassa brand in its "Recycled" version, while at the same time supporting an important social initiative in the Trentino area.
Dolomiti d'autunno
Dolomiti d'Autunno (Autumn in the Dolomites) is a project created to promote a balanced use of the territory, encouraging seasonality and the consequent increase in tourist numbers during the autumn months, enhancing a less crowded season that is nevertheless rich in potential. The initiative is based on the principles of responsible tourism, understood as a balance between environmental protection, respect for local communities and economic sustainability. Thanks to a strategy of deseasonalisation, Dolomiti d'Autunno aims to distribute tourist flows to less crowded periods in order to mitigate peaks of overload. At the same time, the project promotes an authentic relationship with the territory, enhancing the local culture, knowledge and identity of the valley, encouraging behaviour that respects the places and the people who live there. The project includes a programme of experiences designed specifically for the autumn period, combining trekking, cycling and holistic wellness activities, promoting slow, mindful ways of enjoying the area in tune with the rhythms of nature. The activities are led by local experts, mountain guides and local operators, promoting the local economy and enhancing the community, fostering cohesion. At the same time, the project aims to systematise the opening of accommodation facilities and guest services, offering business opportunities to public establishments and shops.
HandiCREA
APT Val di Fassa has launched a new initiative dedicated to accessibility of the area, in collaboration with the HandiCREA Social Cooperative, which specialises in mapping and surveying facilities, places, routes and events. The aim is to provide accurate information on accessibility, identifying any critical issues and allowing people with disabilities to move around with greater autonomy and freedom of movement.
The initiative stems from the desire to offer guests and residents useful information tools to experience the valley fully and consciously. In the coming months, thanks to this collaboration, routes, points of interest and services in the area will be mapped, assessing their accessibility and level of usability.
The project also aims to raise awareness among the local community of the importance of a welcoming and inclusive area, promoting a culture of hospitality that is attentive to different needs and geared towards a more informed welcome.
Who is already committed
