Classic route starting from the Gardeccia basin that leads to one of the most enchanting lakes of the Dolomites. The alpine mirror, heart-shaped and with crystal-clear waters, is hidden among the isolated screes of the Catinaccio and, according to legend, was formed thanks to a nymph. You can avoid the road for a long stretch by crossing the Ruf de Duron stream downstream of the Micheluzzi Refuge, climbing up the other side for about twenty meters and then going left. Initially the path is flat, with tables and benches arranged along the way, then it steeply descends into the woods and joins again the Val Duron road at Pozates, where the Fraines Hut is located. The route can be shortened by starting directly from Campitello (parking in the Ischia area) and traveling in reverse to the Antermoia Lake. One-way length 9.5 km; one-way time 4.40 hours; ascent elevation gain 1129 m. Only the stretch from Gardeccia to the Vajolet Refuge is suitable for families with children or walkable with a baby carrier/backpack.
