In Val San Nicolò, following the legend of Similuce

Bathed in the light of a lush valley, among waterfalls fed by the San Nicolò stream, this is the realm of the golden eagle. Yet it is not only the fairytale landscape that makes this place special: the valley also preserves fascinating traces of the Great War, religious devotion and mountain culture.

At the entrance to the valley there is a Girsberger Artva checkpoint allowing ski mountaineers or snowshoers equipped with self-rescue gear to check the status of their device. The checkpoint also records passages, so you know exactly how many people pass on the trail and how many of them have the Artva.
