The Gardeccia Refuge has been run by the Desilvestro Family since 1902, passing the baton from father to son.
Nestled in a basin of extraordinary beauty, protected by the peaks of Catinaccio, Larsèc and the mythical Vajolet Towers, the refuge can be reached on foot, by mountain bike or, in winter, with mountaineering skis and snowshoes. There are several access routes: from Ciampedie, from Pera di Fassa, from the hamlet of Muncion or from the Vajolet Valley. The kitchen is curated directly by one of the owners, Mario, and reflects the true mountain spirit with genuine dishes of the local tradition. For the right pairing, ask your brother Marco, who will be able to recommend a good glass of red wine or a thirst-quenching beer.
