The refuge, guarded by the pointed Col Ombert, stands isolated at an altitude of 2340 metres on a natural balcony overlooking the Val San Nicolò.

From this privileged position there is an extraordinary view of the Marmolada, the Catinaccio, the Sella, the Pordoi and the Monzoni group. The private structure, in stone and dark wood, framed by green pastures, is open from late June to September. Reachable exclusively on foot from Val San Nicolò, Val Contrin, Buffaure (Pozza) or Ciampac (Alba di Canazei), the refuge offers an authentic mountain experience: family welcome, simple atmosphere and typical Ladin and Trentino cuisine.
With 24 beds in a dormitory, those who choose to stay overnight here can wake up at dawn surrounded by the silence of nature. The scent of pure mountain air, the song of marmots and the light step of chamois, roe deer and mouflons, together with the warmth of the first rays of the sun, create an unforgettable awakening.
