The men's choir from Moena performs an exciting a cappella concert featuring Christmas classics, mountain tunes, and popular songs
At 5 p.m., the "Enrosadira" Men's Choir from Moena gathers in the central square, Piaz de Ramon, for a delightful Advent concert, made even more evocative by the Christmas market atmosphere - the big tree, the carousel, and the sparkling lights all around. The programme features traditional mountain songs and Christmas carols, some performed in Ladin, including "Te cianal de legn" by Moena composer Luigi Canori.
Founded in 1981 and conducted by Barbara Pedrotti, the "Enrosadira" Choir takes its name from a phenomenon typical of the Alps: the "Enrosadira" - Alpenglow, when at dawn and dusk the rocks, lit by the sun's rays, glow in countless shades of red and pink - a sight that never fails to move. The men's choir of Moena has enjoyed memorable international tours, performing in Chicago, Toronto, New York, the State of Santa Catarina, and Rio de Janeiro. Trips to Sicily and Spain have also been important moments of cultural exchange, especially with the ethnic minorities of the Arbëreshë (Albanians of Sicily) and Catalonia. In 2006, the choir was a guest of the then President of the Italian Republic, Carlo Azeglio Ciampi - a recognition that marked a prestigious milestone in its history. These experiences and collaborations contributed to the album "…color d'Enrosadira", which brings together traditional Trentino songs, mountain and folk melodies in Ladin, Friulian, and even African languages, all arranged for men's choir.
