As part of the "Brass bands on the summit" initiative, concert by the municipal band of Tuenno
The mountains become a stage, the band the soundtrack. "Bande in vetta" is back, the festival that brings Trentino bands to alpine refuges for an experience of walking, music and nature. From 22 June to 28 September 2025, every Sunday morning, a mountain refuge will host an open-air concert: brass and woodwind instruments will blend with the sounds of the forest, the peaks and the silence. Walk, listen, breathe: this is the invitation that accompanies this year's event, promoted by the Federation of Bands in collaboration with the Trentino Mountain Huts and with the support of the Autonomous Province of Trento. Folk music, soundtracks and original repertoires will accompany hikers until early afternoon, for a slow-paced encounter between culture and landscape.
On Sunday 7 September from 10:30 a.m. to early afternoon at the Baita Cuz Rifugio at Buffaure, concert by the municipal band of Tuenno. The refuge can be reached on foot or with the lifts from Pozza (cable car + walking tour; cable car + chair lift + walking tour).
Founded in 1920 as a fanfare band on the initiative of the Italian cultural circle, the municipal band of Tuenno, in Val di Non in eastern Trentino, immediately stood out for its enthusiasm and participation. Disbanded in 1925 for political reasons, it was re-founded in 1935 by maestro Valerio De Concini. After the war, his brother Pompeo reconstituted it and conducted it for 46 years. In 1991, the baton was passed to Marco Iori and then to Nicola Pinamonti, who brought new musical and youthful energy to the band. Today, the band is composed of 39 young musicians, conducted by Giovanni Bruni, with a repertoire ranging from classical music to pop and Dixieland.
