In addition to the classic Canazei-Piz Boè, the DoloMyths Run expands with a new competition dedicated to long-distance runners on an unprecedented route that winds through Canazei, Fedaia Pass, Col dei Rossi, Pordoi and Sella passes, Col Rodella
For an entire weekend, Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 July, Canazei becomes the Alpine capital of mountain running with the DoloMyths Run. For the 26th edition, the famous race, part of the prestigious Golden Trail National Series circuit, changes format once again. The Organising Committee is once again proposing multiple challenges, over different distances and routes, to meet the demands of a pool of enthusiasts that grows larger every year. The first day is dedicated to a new challenge, the DoloMyths Run Fassa Trail: 42 kilometres, 2,080 metres of positive altitude difference, start at dawn and a time limit of 12 hours to cross the finish line.
After the start in Canazei, competitors will head towards Alba, Penìa, "Pian Trevisan" and, following the old war road, will reach the Fedaia Dam. They will skirt the lake on the left bank and, once at the pass, they will ascend the historic route to the Padon Pass. From here they will follow the "Viel dal Pan", the favourite path of the Belluno flour merchants, to reach Val di Fassa. Once at the Fredarola Refuge, the athletes will head towards the Pordoi Pass, face the long descent to "Pian Schiavaneis" ("Lupo Bianco") and then climb the opposite slope and, through Val Salei, reach "Col Rodella" again. There are still 7 km to ride before the finish in the square in Canazei.
Those who are content with a shorter distance, on the other hand, cannot miss the DoloMyths Run 12K Junior: a 12-kilometre course with 800 metres of positive altitude difference and departure, again from Canazei, at 10 a.m.
The international success of Canazei's skyrace is also linked to the efficient organising committee headed by Diego Salvador and the support of a sports company of excellence such as Salomon. Around the races on Saturday and Sunday, there will be other folkloristic and gastronomic events for a weekend of racing festivities.
