An evening with the "Nosc" Choir from Soraga, capable of winning the hearts of the public thanks to its exceptional precision, care for sound and delicacy in proposing traditional mountain songs
"An ounce of voice and a pound of heart". These are the words of presentation that can be read on the "Nosc" Choir's Facebook page. Born from the idea of two friends, the choir debuted in 2015 in Soraga, the home town of the founding members. In the Ladin language, the name means "our choir", symbolising a project that was born as a small creature, the fruit of the love of a few, to be given, however, to the whole community. The voices evoke in the listeners' minds scenes of past lives, glimpses of hidden landscapes, palettes of sincere feelings. Thanks to the work of Maestro Peter Decrestina, who undertook the arduous task of researching and arranging the pieces, the ten-member choir can now boast a respectable repertoire, consisting mostly of little-known folk songs and original Ladin-language pieces written by musician Pietro Decrestina, making itself a spokesman for that magical tradition that characterises, albeit with due nuances, all the mountain valleys. In recent years, the choir has also begun to perform outside the valley, and since 2019 has been the promoter of the "Ousc da Mont" choral review, which boasts the participation of the most important mountain choirs in the Dolomites.
At 9 p.m. in the charming church in the hamlet of Penìa with free admission.
