In the enchanting setting of Fuciade, a renowned writer and a medieval music ensemble retrace the footsteps of the first inhabitants of the Alps, listening to the voice of Nature
I Suoni delle Dolomiti are unique encounters between music, nature and silence. In a theatre without walls, where the landscape becomes the stage, artists and audience share the journey and the act of listening. Harmonies intertwine with the breath of the mountains, in an experience that exists only here and now.
30 years of I Suoni delle Dolomiti: special project "La prima musica". Festival preview with Alessandro Baricco and Diabolus in Musica. Fuciade Rifugio (San Pellegrino Pass), Friday, 6 June at 12 noon
Programme
In the suspended and timeless atmosphere of Fuciade, words and music intertwine along the distant traces of the first Alpine peoples.
What did the first hunter-gatherers who roamed the Alpine plateaus listen to? The sounds of nature? The wind rustling through the trees and across the meadows, the cries of animals? Was that their music?
This is the question posed by Alessandro Baricco, one of Italy’s most beloved writers, who brings to the Fuciade Rifugio, together with the French ensemble Diabolus in Musica, a poetic and sonic project dedicated to what we might call "La prima musica": an imaginative journey through nature, memory and ancient harmonies. Medieval music and storytelling merge to evoke the original sound of the world, when every noise was meaning, presence, and living vibration.
How to get to the Fuciade Rifugio: from Moena, by car to San Pellegrino Pass (parking available), then on foot along an easy forest road (approx. 50-minute walk, elevation gain 50 m, difficulty level E).
