Parade of the Molina di Fiemme Community Band along the central Strada Rezia and concert in the square in front of the tourist office
For the summer cycle of Music and traditions, once a week a local band or by another one coming from the nearest valleys will entertain the public with their repertoire. Enliven by the volunteering spirit that is characteristic of the Trentino South Tyrol, the brass band is an occasion to socialize between people of different ages, where everybody puts his own passion at the service of the community, transmitting the habits, the costumes and the history of the society. The evening, starting at 9 pm, includes a parade along the main street of Vigo (Strada Rezia) and concert in the square in front of the tourist office.
The Molina di Fiemme Community Band was officially founded in 1900 and boasts a long history steeped in music, community spirit and shared passion.
Following interruptions caused by the two World Wars, the band resumed its activities with renewed vigour in the 1950s, thanks to the purchase of new instruments, the renewal of its costumes and the expansion of its repertoire. In 1972, the band was among the first in Trentino to open its doors to women, not only as ushers but also as musicians, marking an important milestone in the group's history.
The band is conducted by Maestro Ivo Brigadoi. Alongside its concert activities, which see the band perform throughout Italy and abroad, including at international competitions, the group devotes particular attention to young people, offering music training courses and projects aimed at primary school children, such as "Gli Strumenti in cartella". This initiative is designed to pass on band culture and a sense of community to the next generation. The band is also easily recognisable by the yellow colour of its uniform.
In case of rain, the parade will be cancelled and only the concert will take place at the events pavilion in front of Hotel Vael.
