For the traditional summer music festival, the Negritella male even-voice choir, that takes his name from a mountain flower, performs in the village square
Traditional mountain songs inspired by the grandiose Alpine landscapes, glaciers, forests and legends of the Dolomites. Every Thursday evening, we will be able to listen to pieces skilfully performed by local choral groups, who will entertain us in an exciting concert, sure to be appreciated by valley dwellers and tourists alike. At 9.15 pm, the Negritella Choir will perform in the square in front of the tourist office in Vigo.
The Negritella Choir of Predazzo is one of the most authentic expressions of folk singing in the Trentino valleys. Founded in 1954, it has preserved the mountain choral tradition for decades and keeps alive a precious part of Alpine musical identity. This male choir, singing in equal parts, has taken part in major festivals and competitions, performing in Italy and abroad, from Hungary to Spain, and from France to Germany. Since 2008, the choir has been conducted by Maestro Renato Deflorian, who leads some thirty singers in a repertoire rich in mountain songs and Trentino folk melodies, enhanced by arrangements written specifically for the Fiemme-based ensemble. Every concert by the Negritella Choir is a tribute to the musical heritage of the region and a way of carrying the voice of the Dolomites beyond the valley’s borders.
The concert is free of charge. In case of bad weather at the events pavilion in front of Hotel Vael.
