For the traditional summer music festival, the "Coronelle" Choir performs a rich repertoire of popular songs in the village square
Traditional mountain songs inspired by the grandiose Alpine landscapes, glaciers, forests and legends of the Dolomites. Every Thursday evening, we will be able to listen to pieces skilfully performed by local choral groups, who will entertain us in an exciting concert, sure to be appreciated by valley dwellers and tourists alike. On 3 Juli, at 9.15 p.m., the "Coronelle" Choir from Cavalese will perform in the square in front of the tourist office in Vigo.
The "Coronelle" male choir from Cavalese was founded in 1962 by Mario Bellante and a group of mountain singing enthusiasts. Initially inspired by the repertoire of the SAT (Società Alpina Trentina) choir, it gradually broadened its musical horizons, participating in competitions, tours and prestigious collaborations both in Italy and abroad. Among its most significant experiences are its participation in the "I Suoni delle Dolomiti" festival with the "Filarmonici" and Giovanni Sollima, its performance at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome with Andrea Bocelli and Alexia, and the opera "Variante di Luneburg" with Milva and Walter Mramor. The choir's repertoire is documented in several recordings, including an album dedicated to mountain spirituality that contains the Inno al Cristo Pensante delle Dolomiti (Hymn to the Thinking Christ of the Dolomites), the famous statue located on the summit of Mount Castelaz, in front of the Pale di San Martino. After being conducted by its founder and then by his son Antonio Bellante, since 2008 the choir has been led by Maestro Leonardo Sonn, who passionately continues the Trentino choral tradition, opening it up to new artistic influences.
The concert is free of charge. In case of bad weather at the events pavilion in front of Hotel Vael.
