9½ weeks to fall in love with autumn in Val di Fassa

With the ‘Autumn in the Dolomites’ project, from 5th September to 9th November, you can take care of yourself thanks to 7 trekking, biking and wellness experiences at high altitude and 30

It's time to fall in love with autumn in Val di Fassa, where you have 9½ weeks to discover that this is the most exciting season to experience in the mountains. Peaks silhouetted against cobalt blue skies and forests ablaze with colour and the scent of resin await you: in this wonderful environment, take care of yourself, cultivate your passions and enjoy plenty of wellbeing thanks to the ‘Dolomites in Autumn’ project. From 5 September to 9 November, the Ladin-speaking and Ladin-culture valley confirms its vocation for regenerative tourism by offering a calendar of 7 weekends that take you on a journey, with different “stops” (to be chosen according to your interests), among spectacular views, local traditions and wellness practices that transform body and soul.

After the prelude to the new season, on 5 and 6 September with yoga led by Francesca Senette at the Boè Refuge at 2781 metres and on 12 and 13 September, immerse yourself in the primordial energy of cold baths and sound baths in the panoramic basin Ciampac in Alba di Canazei. Don't be caught unprepared when autumn arrives.

On 20 and 21 September, put on your backpack and set off for the Rifugio Vallaccia together with Marzia Bortolameotti from the Donne di Montagna (Women of the Mountains) association: during the itinerary, which crosses the wild Val Monzoni, there is also time for breathing and yoga, as well as upon arrival at the mountain refuge. The climb to Cima Undici connects you with a view that embraces the Creste di Costabella, Gran Vernel and Marmolada.
On 26th and 27th September, discover the Val di Fassa on two wheels with an intense Mountain Bike Experience in the Dolomites, which first takes you to the Contrin mountain hut, where you will spend the night and enjoy an excellent dinner before setting off the next morning for the most beautiful tour of the Dolomites: the Sellaronda MTB.

Put your hiking boots back on on 3 and 4 October to reach Lake Antermoia, with its characteristic heart shape, where a Survival Camp together with Donne di Montagna (Women of the Mountains) will teach you how to experience the essence of high altitude, including endurance, adaptation and freedom.
On 10th and 11th October at the Roda di Vael Refuge, you can trek in the most beautiful places of the Catinaccio group, but also practise yoga-pilates, meditation with Tibetan bells and sun salutations at dawn, with Nicolò and Valeria, two young mountain enthusiasts who recount their life change from Rome to the Dolomites on Instagram (@_nicoandvaleria_).
On 18th and 19th October, two days dedicated to Ladin culture conclude these experiences among the valley's roots, expressed through gestures, stories and traditions that restore the identity of this place and its people.
But the offerings certainly do not end there. From 13 October to 9 November, the second part of Dolomiti d'Autunno is entirely dedicated to Mental Wellbeing, with a rich calendar of free activities spread across different locations and times of day. Over four weeks, there will be more than 30 sessions (free of charge) ranging from Qi Gong to face yoga, from water Pilates to mindfulness with Tibetan bells, from forest bathing to the magic of the woods and meditation paths in nature, all enriched by shows and meetings with experts. An invitation to take care of your emotions too, slowing down, listening to yourself and rediscovering the pleasure of digital detox and the ability to face daily challenges.
In autumn, Val di Fassa offers a wealth of delicious food and wine experiences, such as the Sapori d'autunno (Autumn Flavours) festival in Moena (from 14 to 21 September), the Festival del Puzzone di Moena Dop (from 19 to 21 September), the Simposio Top Wine 2950 (18 October) and even wonderful folk happenings such as La Gran Festa da d'Istà in Canazei (from 12 to 14 September).
