Stage 1 Dolomiti Trek King - At the feet of the Queen of the Dolomites

the chairlift terminal (path no. 613) to the top of "Sas de Adam" to enjoy a marvellous panorama of the Fassa Dolomites. Keep on the ridge, now in descent, and then the path goes across the "Sela Brunéch". Get back onto the ridge above the chairlift (path no. 613/B) and proceed to the "Sas de Roces". Here you will have to go around to the south on the side of the San Nicolò Valley (Val San Nicolò), where in certain places there is a metal safety cord. You will reach the grassy saddle above the "Sas Bianch" and then proceed on a steep diagonal to the west side of the "Varosc" ridge (path no. 613), where there are fortifications left from WW1. From here there is a well signposted detour of the path in the fields that brings you till the reconnection with the original path. Now the San Nicolò Pass and refuge are visible and you will be down in few minutes. Later on you go down to the Contrin Valley (Val Contrin) on path no. 608 in order to reach the Contrin Refuge.

Author's advice: The tour counts 6 stages on well-indicated CAI-SAT paths. From any point, it is possible to descend to the valley and, thanks to the shuttle service, the mountain lifts or the public means, easily get back to the departure.
