At 2,000 metres above sea level, in the heart of the Canazei Belvedere, the Sun Bait is an invitation to stop, breathe in the pure mountain air and let yourself be conquered by an unparalleled panorama. The large mirrored windows overlook the Sassolungo, Sella and Pordoi Group, offering a view that changes with the seasons and gives the feeling of being immersed in nature. The structure, inaugurated in December 2024, stems from the enthusiasm and energy of brothers Matteo and Marco Iori, who together with their parents have transformed a family dream into a welcoming and modern refuge. Built in wood with stone inserts, in full respect of the environment, it stands next to the Kristiania chairlift, where once there was a small cabin of its own.

The name Sun Bait, an original mix of Ladin and English, already tells a lot about this sun-kissed retreat, perfect for every moment of the day. From breakfast overlooking the Dolomites to rejuvenating lunch after a ski, from a delicious snack to an aperitif at sunset, every break here has a special flavour. In winter it is the reference point for skiers who move around the slopes of the Belvedere, while in summer it becomes a must-see destination for hikers and bikers. It can also be easily reached by car from Passo Pordoi, at the 17th hairpin bend, with a short walk of ten minutes.

Inside, the atmosphere is warm and enveloping, designed to make every guest feel at home. On the ground floor, the large panoramic terrace leads to a large bar area, perfect for a quick stop or a coffee with a view. Going up to the first floor, you will immerse yourself in a refined and welcoming environment, with an exposed roof and a fireplace that warms the atmosphere on the coldest days. Here the restaurant offers cuisine that celebrates Ladin tradition, with dishes such as canederli and goulash, without sacrificing more refined proposals curated by the chef. For those looking for a tasty and quick option, the menu also includes sandwiches and pizzas.
