At Malga Contrin, a small mountain hut with its own dairy, run for over 25 years by the family of Konrad Haselrieder, an authentic and sweet experience awaits you! Every Wednesday, from 12 noon to 3 p.m. (weather permitting), our beloved grandparents Hilde and Konrad (who looks like he stepped out of a Heidi film!) prepare traditional Strauben, a South Tyrolean spiral-shaped fried dessert, served with cranberry jam and icing sugar. Everything is made according to an old family recipe, with fresh milk and eggs. The best part? It's cooked outdoors, surrounded by nature at the foot of the Marmolada. The grandparents not only cook, but also explain the different steps and are happy to answer questions. They may even tell you a few stories from the old days: a perfect moment for adults and children with a sweet tooth.
Malga Contrin is located in the municipality of Pozza di Fassa and can be reached on foot from Alba di Canazei (paid parking near the "Ciampac" cable car) by following trail no. 602. We recommend good mountain gear, but above all: bring your appetite!
Activity fee: € 6.50 per person, to be paid directly on site. No booking required. For children aged 10 and over. In case of bad weather, the activity will be cancelled.
