For the traditional summer music festival, the "Gh'era 'na volta" Choir performs a rich repertoire of popular songs in the village square
Traditional mountain songs inspired by the grandiose Alpine landscapes, glaciers, forests and legends of the Dolomites. Every Thursday evening, we will be able to listen to pieces skilfully performed by local choral groups, who will entertain us in an exciting concert, sure to be appreciated by valley dwellers and tourists alike. On 26 Juni, at 9.15 p.m., the choir "Gh’era ’na volta" will perform in the square in front of the tourist office in Vigo.
The male choir "Gh’era ’na volta" was founded in 2009 by a cheerful group of friends (young, yes... or at least they were!) led by the tireless Emilio Santuari. Together, they decided to give voice to the melodies of the past, collecting and passing on a musical heritage that smells of wine cellars, patron saint festivals and stories sung around a table laden with food. Their repertoire is a musical journey that starts with tavern songs, passes through the festive airs of patron saint festivals, embraces songs dear to local characters, and rediscovers opera choruses - particularly those by Verdi - that once echoed through the valleys, bringing beauty and culture even to the smallest villages. Grumes, with its 450 inhabitants, is perched among the dry stone walls of the Upper Cembra Valley, like a poem carved into the mountain. It is a corner of the world that smells of ancient times, where time passes to the rhythm of nature and memories, and where singing is not just music, but living memory, shared tradition and popular pride.
Free admission. In case of bad weather at the events pavilion in front of Hotel Vael.
