How to reach Col Rodella - Summer 2025

All options while the cable car is closed

New routes, same stunning views: reach Col Rodella in summer 2025

This summer, the cable car from Campitello will take a break, but your adventure to Col Rodella is just beginning. To make way for a cutting-edge lift system, the current cable car will be closed throughout the 2025 summer season. In the meantime, there’s no shortage of alternatives to reach one of the Dolomites’ most spectacular panoramic terraces. Hike up scenic trails, hop on a mountain bike, or take advantage of the chairlifts and gondolas operating from June to September.

Why is the cable car closed? The closure is part of an ambitious project to build the new "3S" lift, a next-generation cableway using triple-cable technology. With 18 spacious cabins, each holding 30 passengers, the system will offer fast, smooth and high-capacity transport. In less than six minutes, hikers, bikers and skiers will reach the high altitudes of Col Rodella. Opening is scheduled for December 2025, just in time for the winter season.
